Grand Tetons – Part 2: Our Can’t-Miss Favorite Spots

Ever wonder where the best spots in Grand Teton National Park are for jaw-dropping views and frame-worthy photos? Whether you're chasing that one epic living room shot or aiming to overload your friends' feeds with mountain magic, these are our absolute favorite stops—and trust us, they’re worth every step, drive, or photo op.

1. South Entrance – National Park Sign & Beyond

Yes, we all stop for that classic family photo at the park sign (because if you didn’t take that pic, did you even go?). But here's the pro tip: walk about 50 yards beyond the sign and you'll find stunning views of the Tetons without the photo-bombing crowd. It’s quiet, majestic, and totally Instagram-worthy.

2. Jenny Lake

Jenny Lake is a must. You can stroll around the lake for unforgettable views or, if you're up for a longer trek (about 4 miles), hike up to Inspiration Point for a next-level experience. For this trip, we opted to drive the scenic loop around the lake (thanks to our four-legged explorers), but next time, we’re lacing up our boots! Pro tip: Get there early—the parking lot fills up fast.

3. Moose-Wilson Road

Since we had our dogs with us, hiking options were limited (more on that in another post—RV life with dogs is a journey!). But the scenic drive did not disappoint. Picture-perfect pullouts, mountain views, and peaceful rivers along the way. Word on the trail was a moose was chilling by the Snake River, but she was feeling camera-shy. (Still bitter.) Teton Village along the drive also looked like a blast—note that for your next visit!

4. Antelope Flats

This one? Our absolute favorite. Why? Bison. So. Many. Bison. We first saw them from Glacier Lookout—majestic in the distance. But we weren’t satisfied with a zoomed-in shot from the sidelines. We tracked down the backroads like seasoned wildlife paparazzi and ended up way closer. So close, I almost called my insurance company to make sure my Bronco was bison-proof. 😅 We got phenomenal photos, unforgettable memories, and a small adrenaline rush.

5. Craig Thomas Discovery & Visitor Center

Start your journey here. The rangers are amazing and will help you plan hikes or adventures that fit your group (or energy level). There’s a great gift shop, passport stamps (yes, plural!), and a bonus secret stamp behind the counter—just ask! FYI, every visitor center has a unique stamp, so stamp collectors, take note!

🏅 Honorable Mention: National Elk Refuge

Before even entering the park, swing by the Elk Refuge. It surprised us with a beautiful gift shop, helpful rangers, and (drumroll)... their own unique passport stamp! There's also a whiteboard with real-time wildlife sightings across the park, which is a game-changer if you're hoping to spot specific animals. If you’re on a wildlife photo mission, make this your first stop.

Final Thoughts Whether you’re exploring by car, bike, boot, or RV, the Grand Tetons have something for everyone. And let’s be real—you’ll never see it all in one trip. But that’s okay… it just means you’ll have to come back. Again and again. It’s one of the most magical places in the U.S.—and yes, that’s a bold statement, but we stand by it.

So pack the snacks, charge the cameras, and don’t forget your sense of adventure. You’re going to need it.
