🐾Welcome to Pugaloo Adventures!

Welcome to Pugaloo Adventures — where life is a mix of family chaos, travel memories, personal growth, and the determination to become the strongest version of ourselves. I’m Maisha, the creator behind the camera, the writer behind the blog, and the mom behind the mayhem. Around here, we celebrate adventure in every form — from road trips to race day.

What began as a space to document our family travels has grown into so much more. Today, Pugaloo Adventures blends travel, photography, running, weight-loss, and half-marathon training into one honest, encouraging, joy-filled journey. Because adventure doesn’t just happen on mountain trails or in new cities… sometimes it happens at 5 a.m. with tired legs and a stubborn pair of running shoes.

Travel & Photography

I’m passionate about capturing real moments — the laughter, the movement, the imperfect magic of family life. Through photography and storytelling, I document our trips, share family-friendly guides, review campgrounds and destinations, and help you see the beauty in the everyday. Whether we’re exploring Lassen County or finding hidden gems across the West, I’m here to inspire families to explore more and create memories that last.

Running, Weight Loss & Half-Marathon Training

Alongside our travels, I share my personal journey of getting healthier, losing weight, and training for half marathons. I write about the highs, the struggles, the small victories, and everything in between. If you’re a beginner runner, someone restarting their fitness journey, or a mom trying to carve out time for herself — this is your space too.

Through blog posts on:

  • Training plans

  • Motivation & mindset

  • Real-life weight-loss progress

  • Running tips for busy parents

  • Gear reviews

  • Race recaps and lessons learned

…I hope to encourage anyone who feels like big goals are out of reach. If I can do it — while juggling kids, travel, a camera, and a to-do list a mile long — you absolutely can too.

Why I Created Pugaloo Adventures

At its core, this space is about growth, discovery, and joy. Whether it’s a family road trip, a 10-mile training run, or a moment captured through my lens, every experience shapes a story worth sharing. My goal is to inspire families and individuals to live fully, move bravely, and find adventure wherever they are.

Thank you for being here, following our journey, and sharing pieces of your own. I hope Pugaloo Adventures leaves you feeling supported, inspired, and ready to chase every adventure — on the trail, on the road, or in your everyday life.

Adventure on,
Maisha – Creator of Pugaloo Adventures

Confession time: I’m new to blogging and just figuring out how not to accidentally delete my own posts.

This little corner of the internet is my place to create, learn, and (hopefully) not crash the site while doing it. I’ll be sharing photos from our family adventures — some taken with a camera I’m still learning to use, and others snapped on a phone between snack breaks and sibling squabbles.

Each post will include what, where, and how: the camera (or phone) I used, the settings (when I remember to write them down), any post-editing I did (or didn’t bother doing), plus the location, month, and year the magic happened.

So, whether you’re here for the travel inspo, the tech details, or just to see what chaos we’ve captured this time — welcome. Let’s figure this out together, one click and one caffeine-fueled adventure at a time.

Feedback, Feels & Family Chaos Welcome

Got comments, ideas, brilliant insights, or just want to tell me my camera was crooked? Send them my way!

This space isn’t just about my family's chaos — it’s about our collective adventure. I want this to be a place where we can share, laugh, learn, and maybe figure out how to pack a car without forgetting someone’s shoe (again).

If you’ve got suggestions, inspiration, or just want to connect with another mom in the trenches trying to turn everyday moments into memories, I’m all ears. Drop me a message, and I promise to reply (unless I'm chasing someone with sunscreen).

Thanks for being here. Let’s make magic — or at least make it to the next adventure.
